January 2020 marks the 16th Annual National Stalking Awareness Month (NSAM), a call to action to recognize and respond to the serious crime of stalking. Organized by the U.S. Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women (OVW), the campaign is extremely important  because, although most people have heard the term, few understand the serious nature and prevalence of stalking-related incidents in the United States.
